  1. Ellie, I might have missed this in your talk, but did you mention when the action/story was taking place? Is it a modern day story or is it set in the past? Was the book written before or after 9/11? I’m just wondering what the role of today’s view of Muslims and Muslim culture might play in this book, why it was written, or how it could be used in a classroom or with a young adult. Could you put it in the context of contemporary discussions of Muslims and Muslim culture?
